sounds

I love the feeling of crazy first-class music sliding down the canals of the ear to the brain. The voices of the instrument are sewn together like a beautiful quilt, creating one connected moving sound. The ability to produce this sound with other musicians fills my heart with peace and joy. The joy is passed around the room from guitar, to drums, to the violin, to the singers, and also to those who are listening with their eyes shut and toe tapping. This all brings a goofy smile to my face.

all that happens.

I feel that I am at a time in my life where things have come to a halt. Taking time off from school has opened my heavy eyes to what happens in the now and not the then (the ‘bright’ future). Everyday has multiple surprises that keep me guessing to what could emerge in my life next. Some days I wake up and go to work at nine and come home at six, other days I wake up whenever and crawl down stairs to create a masterpiece in the kitchen (a whopping pancake that most likely weighs a few pounds). I may wake up and end up at the coast surfing, or sleep in and lounge in our excessively comfortable living room with my roommates drinking far to much coffee, or I will spend a whole day working out side in the garden (the garden to be, since I am now just planting seeds). I really am enjoying having no plan, there are very little amounts of stress compared to when I was attending school (not to say a little stress is healthy). I say live life and live it well! It is true I will probably re-attend college sometime in my future, I just love and cherish the time I have to find out what I really want to do, there is no better time then now.

longing for sun

Every day the sun peeks its bright face from the clouds I find my self peeking out from my front door towards the direction of our beloved outdoor table with chairs. During summer my roommates and I would wake up early to make blackberry banana pancakes with fresh pressed coffee and sit at the table to enjoy the sunrise. Today I sat at the outdoor table and ate a wonderful lunch with Rory (one of many roommates). She too enjoyed our outside sun excursion (a nice break from the rain) her 1980's camera was in her hand capturing every beautiful moment the sun produced. What a wonderful day it turned out to be, I know it was because I am almost finished with a silly cold that was passing friend to friend like a hot potato.

Snow, white flurry soft cold loving snow

My street is covered with a white blanket of snow. The night is freezing and filled with a mysterious touch of excitement. Running at full speed ahead I can slide on the road that has a thin layer of ice and snow. My balance is tested after gliding nearly five to seven feet. I looked up towards the heavens to find flakes drifting gently down to my mouth. My friend Amy and I stood in the night challenging our selves with who could catch the most snow. I get distracted by every object outside which is painted white making my eyes imagine what the world would look like in black and white.

I have seen no carolers this holiday season, more and more caroling has become less common (I suppose it is due to the hatred the audience has towards them). I have noticed over the years my fondness towards Christmas music has decreased, but the meaning of Christmas will always be remembered. I guess the music was just overplayed as a few monotonous tunes. There is much to look forward to still, visiting with family and festivities. My family is all over the place: Dad (San Diego), Mom\Lance (Crawford, Nebraska), Sister (Salem), Rest of the family (….who knows for sure). I will spend Christmas day with my sister and her husbands’ family in Salem. The snow is much more abundant there then in Corvallis, much fun to be had.

The sun was just setting and I needed no gloves.
So, I hiked
upon a trail
and everything turned to Gold.
